Check-in & Schedule:
Friday Check-in: Early check-in starts Friday night from 6pm – 9pm. We highly recommend a Friday night check in: This leaves you more time to get to know the event layout and time schedules, review your event package for details on start times, requirements for Saturdays event, and what to be prepared for. Friday night is casual; dinner and Negra Modelos at the restaurant! If you check-in on Friday night, a breakfast buffet will be open Saturday morning by 8am. If you do not, the chances of getting through check-in on Saturday and having time for the buffet before the ride is BLEEK (bring a sack breakfast if you check-in on Saturday!
Saturday check-in: Day of Event check-in starts at 7:30ish am – 9:30am. YOU MUST CHECK-IN BY 8:30 AM – THAT IS THE CUT-OFF WITHOUT REFUND. It will take a minimum of 1 hour to fulfill all requirements necessary at check-in.
DAY OF EVENT REGISTRATION:
If you register at Santa Veronica (rather than on-line), bring cash. We do not accept checks, credit cards, or promises; just cash. Gracias.
Make sure you print this page and read it thoroughly using the check list below before leaving home.
Route & Gas Information:
SINGLE TRACK:
The 2006 ST route will be the longest and most technical course yet (I’m 2/3rd done with it and LOVE IT). As usual, it is hard to say if we will get a break with heat, so remember to consider a heat factor when choosing this route even though the dates are 2 weeks later than years past. The course is not yet finished, but it will be somewhere between 40 – 50 miles long. Labeled gas jugs can be placed on the route if needed and picked up at the party after the route.
2-TRACK:
This course is always fun. We manage to get a lot of various terrain out of the 2-track, challenging the novice and intermediate at times, but offering a well-rounded long course of about 65 – 70 miles of pure epic off-roading. Labeled gas jugs can be placed on the route if needed and picked up at the party after the route.
THERE IS GAS IN EL HONGO – THERE IS NO GAS IN SANTA VERONICA – BE PREPARED
MANDITORY MEETING:
Saturday 10ish am is the mandatory meeting and class. If you have taken the class a zillion times before, it is still required. This is the last GPS event and staff is too short for rigging early departures for return participants. Help a neighbor, refresh, or perhaps catch something you missed in the past. This class gets faster every year; please bear with us. Thanks. Make sure you are READY to ride when you arrive for the class! This includes being suited up, vehicle ready to start, gassed up, spare gas jug given to the proper person if needed, backpack/water hydration with you, AND all the things you need for class/starting that is explained in your event package (received at check-in) are with you. You will start directly after class.
Party & Raffle:
The party starts after you get back, showered and are ready for the Mexican Buffet. Food will start being served at 5PM. Cost is $7 at the door (not included in your event price). It’s all you can eat and beer is served extra from the bar (we are working on getting Negra Modelo – it’s harder than you think). We are challenged to get live music over the border, but we are putting in extra effort for the last years bash (cross your fingers). The raffle always starts a little late as we are helping late-birds limp in for various reasons. The raffle will include (as always) EPIC gifts from our sponsors: Baja Designs, Dunlop, FOX, Arai, Cycoactive, Fugawi Software, Magellan GPS, Trailboss Tours, and quite a few others. MAKE PLANS TO STAY AT THE HOTEL SATURDAY NIGHT. DON’T MISS THE LAST PARTY, RAFFLE, AND BUFFET; IT WILL BE SPECIAL!
Hotel & Reservations:
Hacienda Santa Veronica offers nice rooms with hot showers, bar/restaurant, pool, tennis courts, and beautiful camping facilities in the trees (no hook ups).

What’s New & Unique:
Since this years’ event will be the last, it will be more unique than ever before. This year there will be a Geo-moto game incorporated within both the single and 2-track routes making this course a real “treasure hunt”. You will find clues along the route that will lead you to solve a riddle in the end. Your prize is when you figure it out and the game never stops, at your convenience.
