ACR: TerraFix 406 GPS I/O:

This model comes with a GPS rreceiver�built in; activate the beacon and TerraFix acquires GPS coordinates of your distress location and transmits a 5 watt message with your unique ID (UIN) so rescuers know who you are and where you are worldwide! This unit also comes with a back-up data cable that can attach to your personal GPS. The only difference between the I/O model and the I model is that the I/O model has a built in GPS; all other features are the same:

Features:

  • GPS receiver built-in & a data cable back up option for connecting to your own GPS
  • Transmits a 5 watt distress message with your personal information
  • When the GPS coordinate is incorporated in the first transmission, your emergency can be routed immediately to the closest rescue agency as quickly as 3 minutes
  • Position accuracy is within 100 meters (110 yards
  • A two-button activation design helps prevent false alarms. A red LED flashing light indicates the PLB is transmitting to LEOSAR satellite system and green LED flashing indicates GPS Lat/Long are being transmitted to GEOSAR stationary satellites
  • There are battery testing options for power, GPS data confirmation, and internal circuitry
  • This unit exceeds RTCM waterproof requirements for Category 1 buoyancy (tested to 5 meters) and floats
  • ACR beacons are used extensively by the U.S. military and Coast Guard, NATO Special Forces and Arctic explorers!!
Responsible Use Guide: A PLB is a satellite signaling device of last resort, for use when all other means of self rescue have been exhausted, where the situation is grave and imminent and the loss of life, limb, eyesight or valuable property will occur without assistance.
